This is a great fall variety developed in 1951. The plants are very short and stocky, about 20” tall, and produce one nice big head about 6” across. Because the plants are so stocky and compact, they can be planted closer together than other varieties and so you get more heads per area. Delicious all-broccoli flavor. Beware that like most broccoli, Waltham 29 like cool weather, so planting in the fall/spring is best.
