Moving past the gory name, Bull's Blood beets can be described as red, red, and more red. The roots are beautiful and best at 2-3" across, red of course and tender. What's really awesome are the leaves which are tender, small, and (here it comes) red, with even darker red stems and veins. Market growers love to mix the leaves into salad mixes. This Heirloom variety has won many friends since 1840. My original seeds came from a friend in the Netherlands over 15 years ago.
