Easy to grow classic and native perennial wildflower loved by bees and butterflies. Tall sturdy stems have large lavender flowers that are great in flower arrangements, fresh of dried. The Plant is considered medicinal for colds and flu. Chew on the seeds for a tingling buzz. A favorite of mine.

Purple Coneflower Echinacea
Echinacea Purpurea. A hardy perennial favorite, Echinacea is an easy to grow medicinal herb and excellent cut flower. I use the seeds, flowers, leaves and roots in a tea for colds and flu. The flowers are on 3 foot stems, lavender with a spiky seed head, on stiff stems great in a vase. A hardy perennial here in USDA zone 4. The clumps don's spread too fast, but will drop seeds and a few new plants will pop up every year. Like full sun, and candle handle lots of rain or very dry conditions. Each plant would fill a gallon size potting container, I send them bare-root.
