I believe these vines are on a mission to dominate the earth. Growing up to 30 feet in every direction, they can cover the side of a house, greenhouse or porch in a jiffy and save you from the heat. Since they are an annual, they can never be invasive. They produce dozens of Luffa Gourds, about 10” long and 3” across. Let them dry for awhile inside, then peel off the papery skin, and you have a spongy mesh inside that is just like the Luffa sponges from the sea. Use in the shower or the kitchen for natural pot scrubbers!
