Dinosaur kale has become all the rage lately. This Italian heirloom from the 18th century is a wonderful beautiful variety adapted to both heat and cold. The leaves are a stunning dark green, long and oval, covered in blistery bumps and pointing towards the sky. I start cutting when 10” high, and then continue harvesting the outer leaves until the plants are covered in snow in late fall! The strong stems and thick leaves are great for market growers. Delicious and nutritious, it's a beautiful plant.
