This is my favorite pole bean and I get pretty defensive about it. Dissapointed with many of the green beans out there which become tasteless and watery when cooked, Fortex won me over many years ago. Very plentiful long round pods are firm, dense, meaty and flavorful when cooked, entirely stringless at any length.
I have become a fan of pole beans lately. 5 times the beans on the same area as a bush bean. No bending over to find the pods and no damage to the pods form touching the soil! Just install a stock panel or strip of fencing and plant them there year after year!
