![]() Where do your seeds come from? Did you know that 8 out of 10 seed companies in North america grow little to none of the seeds they are selling? Most companies, whether Mail-order, online, or in the stores, are merely re-sellers, who broker seeds grown in far off places from the Top Ten seed corporations . Of course growing seeds in distant lands is not inherently a bad thing. Unfortunately we do not know if Monsanto and the rest of the Top Ten Seed companies are paying seed growers in South America and Asia a fair wage. We can only hope. Is this sustainable? Is this responsible? Is this secure? We rely on our gardens, we love the security we feel with a garden in our back yards and food on our tables. But how secure is it, really, when only a few Multinational Corporations are producing and controlling the seeds you rely on every year? It is imperative that we get our seeds from local growers. Local gardeners. Local seed swaps. And start saving some of our own! Here at Solera Seeds we are dedicated to producing seeds right here. We would love to have you along, growing our seeds in your gardens, and perhaps even saving some as well to offer through our catalog!!!
